Chris Miller
Role: Partner
For Chris, directing a successful marketing research project requires many of the same steps as running a white water rapid: you have to evaluate the situation quickly but carefully, decide on the best plan of action, and then swiftly execute that plan all while being ready to change course mid-stream if necessary. Chris has been running research rapids for more than 18 years on both the client and vendor sides of the business for a variety of Fortune 500 firms.
Chris’s personal pursuits (whitewater rafting, mountain biking, backpacking, snowboarding, playing soccer, long distance running, studying history, reading dime store novels) suggest two things about his personality: He thrives on variety and has a LOT of energy. When applied to marketing research this results in a constant desire to learn new techniques and identify opportunities to apply those techniques to many different marketing situations across a variety of industries.
Over the course of his career, the outcome of this energy has been growth: While on the client side he helped grow the GTE research department by 600%. While under his guidance, Lynx Research has gone from 2 dudes working out of the spare bedroom in his house to a full blown marketing research company with 5 offices spread across the United States.
But Chris would like the growth to stop at his waistline, which is why he is currently training for his first endurance mountain bike race. He says this undertaking is more about the journey than the destination, and thus harbors no expectations about winning. And yet, he still can’t help daydreaming about a spot upon the podium…..
